As you may be able to tell from our website, we like “different”. If everyone, and everything was the same, then Camp Life would be boring!!! Boring, it is not at The Meadows Campsite, Pentewan, and indeed, that word is not in the Team’s vocabulary.
High summer season starts today, and so we have been reflecting on camp life so far. What makes our camp so special is our visitors, and the atmosphere on site which is very friendly, relaxed and informal.
We feel blessed this season with the weather so far, and the variety of guests. Our guests have included, a celebrity (Martin Dorey aka Campervan Cookbook Man), Mr Claus with his van decorated with reindeers,;), Alfie the champion body boarding Terrier and just so many lovely people turning up their own special camping unit.
This weekend we have to name a few Mr Claus, Nipper, (a flowery Bedford van), Bertie a VW Campervan, Blue Vintage, serving up pancakes, lots of pop up top VWs, and of course our very own Lottie, and Maisy with their guests. All are having such a fab time.
It is great to see also bell tents and trailer tents on site with their bunting and fairy lights up. Here is a little gallery of some of our guests at The Meadows Campsite from the day we opened right up to today – Enjoy the line up, and apologies to any one we have missed out, as you are fabulous guests. I am trying to get in to the habit, of having camera full charged at hand, and ready to go.
News from Camp Dog
Of course it would not be right of me to have favourite guests, BUT I have been spoilt by lots of lovely girls, and lots of lovely Alfies. All dogs called “Alfie” can usually do a trick, such as permanently spit their tongue out, body boarding, or in the case of Alfie Strout just look extremely cut and gorgoues 24-7.
Thank you to the Strout family Millie, Molly & Alfie for my card and gravy bone. Camp Daddy had to take my ID to the sorting office to collect my card and bone as Postman Pat said it was too heavy for the stamp :). It was well worth it though, and looking forward to seeing you all in September xxxx from me, CD.
Oh and by the way, I have been injected with a good dose of female hormones by Church End Vets, so I may have a high bark, and be Camp Dog Harriet when you next visit in September :). Camp Mummy must have a photo of you on your next visit for our gallery, so lipstick, on girls, and lipstick in Alfie!!
Good on all those of you who have been swimming in the sea, and in the river, and a very well done to the 3 Hicks Jack Russells who swam all the way back from Pentewan to Camp.
Blue Vintage – The freshly made Crepes are going down a treat. Thursday is to be the regular night. However, Blue Vintage will also now be calling on a Saturday tea time opening up her hatch to cook for all those weekenders, and new arrivals setting up, and being worn out from their journey.
Charlestown Regatta – This is on from Saturday 3 August to Friday 9 August. Check out what is happening for this here
Heligan – Check out what is happening
Bookings – are closed now for July & August, as we are up to capacity, so sorry to those we have had to disappoint this season. HOWEVER September is the new July, and October the new August!!!! Even though all of the little tiddlywinks, have gone back to school, we still advise to book early if possible as The Meadows Dog Friendly Campsite, is fairly small. You can contact us here, or telephone – 01726 844383. We are in the Pentewan Valley, close to the Eden Project, and Mevagissey, and within walking distance of Heligan Gardens.
“Lottie” Caravan is also available to rent for September and October, and please do take a look at lots of lovely news pictures on Lottie’s page. Thank you Camp Sister (now on her way back to NZ for a rest) for the photo-shoot, it was great fun, and the results are amazing!!
