Hardstanding grass pitches streamside

The Meadows Campsite (just for adults & dog friendly) is the perfect place for a relaxing caravan, campervan, or camping break.   Our small, and natural campsite is very well placed for visiting the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey, the famous Eden Project, Fowey, and lots of other beautiful places in South Cornwall. In around 40 minutes, you can also be over to the North Coast.

We have two gorgeous vintage caravans on site, Lottie and Mabel who are available to rent for a stylish, hassle free, and fun holiday.

Our campsite is in a beautiful valley setting, so is a lovely sheltered sunny spot, with a stream running along one side, and a wooded area. We attract lots of wildlife to our campsite, and our campers like to sit on our deck watching the bird life, or relaxing at their pitch by the stream.

DSC_6758The Pentewan Valley Trail directly adjoins the site, and so you can cycle or walk to lots of Cornish attractions. These include The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Pentewan Sands, and Mevagissey (good walk), Eden Project (cycling distance), enabling many car free days. The Trail also links up to the South West Coast Path, and is part of the National Route 3 Cycle Trail (Coast to Clay Trail).

There are bus stops  within a few minutes walk of our gates, taking you to the most popular places.  You can also hop on the Mevaggisey Ferry over to Fowey.

Our campsite has great facilities, as a lot of improvement work has been carried out by ourselves as new owners since February 2013.  Work to further enhance the natural beauty of the site continues, and returning guests can enjoy seeing the changes we have made. We love campfires, wildlife, bunting, fairy lights and the bbq smells which waft over the campsite. We also enjoy hearing about our guests adventures, and the walks and places they have enjoyed during their stay.

Fire-pits and Smokey Joe BBQS are available for hire, and we can supply you with wood  If you hire a firepit, or bbq from us, all you will have to do is light it, and enjoy. We will do the rest for you.

Wifi – guests can enjoy free wifi within our wi-fi zone.

New –  “Kernowforno” visiting Tuesday weekly, cooking delicious wood fired oven pizzas on site “proper coffee” and sometimes homemade cakes.

S7000002We are always on the lookout for other visiting locals willing to cook up their speciality to add to our guests’ holiday experience. Lazys picALSO NEW for 2016 – Lazy’s Travelling Bar  is making regular visits, sometimes teaming up with The Cornish Maid with food offerings.

The Cornish Maid – visits the campsite 2, or 3 times a week cooking up a Cornish breakfast and so a good chance to taste some local sausage and bacon.

We have a small shop in our reception office, enabling you to purchase essential items, including eggs (from “our girls”), with a top up from “friends with hens and ducks”, and local Cornish milk.  We also now stock the scrumptious Roskillys organic ice-cream, and we also sell  homemade bunting, and dog bandanas!! Daily Newspapers are available to order.

We have 23 Electric Hook Ups available and you can choose a camping pitch to suit you, whether this is by the stream for duck watch, or another preferred sunny and sheltered spot. The site is a large flat meadow field, with natural lumps and bumps. We also have “proper camping” secluded pitches in our wildflower meadow for our guests who enjoy “wild camping“.

The “proper camping” pitches are informal, giving you plenty of space to enjoy your camping experience. We will personally show you the pitching areas available on arrival so you can choose where to pitch & we are park and pitch.S7000355

For campervanners who want to do it “Proper Camping” style we have three campervan pitches on our fore meadow (hardstanding grass) in front of the wildflower meadow.

All of our electric hook up pitches are hardstanding grass pitches (served by “grass protecta”) making them all weather grass pitches, with parking on the pitch.

Note – pitches for motorhomes and large caravans are extremely limited due to the naturalness of the site and are strictly “up field”.

Casual pitches – we keep four casual hook up  pitches that are available for those touring the county, short stays, and those last minute bookers.

Please check out our FAQs and Camping Etiquette for more general campsite information.
